Magic Song 11:12

about

This is the 3rd Vansina-Verbruggen-Gudmunsson trio recording and like on the previous album (In Orbit), it features the two musical giants, Magic Malik and Jozef Dumoulin. Vansina prefers the sound and energy of the moment so again the band recorded ‘live’. This time Vansina was writing songs for this specific ensemble ft. Magic Malik and Dumoulin. Heavenly inspired by Malik, there is lot’s of rhythm and beautiful unison melodies that work perfect with flute and the alto saxophone. The title track was written on the laptop an a bus while on tour in Japan with Flat Earth Society Orchestra. Vansina recalls: “It was extremely late, I was super tired, the whole bus was drunk and noisy when I wrote this song.”
